Stan Ross died Friday at Providence St.Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank,California complications following surgery. More than 100 top hits were recorded at Gold Star under Stan & Dave Gold,including such Spector-produced records as " You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers and " Be My Baby " by the Ronettes.Others hits like " La Bamba " by Ritchie Valens & " Summertime Blues " by Eddie Cochran. Also " Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida " by Iron Butterfly & The Beach Boys too! Today was a Service held at 2pm at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles,California.RIP my good friend,Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. & Family.

Sorry to hear about this.
Gold Star was a very cool place...I did a bunch of sessions there in the early '70's, some with Stan at the console.
That whole block at Santa Monica and Vine used to be music central, with Gold Star, Paramount Recording Studio, SIR, Clover Studio, and a few more whose names escape me. Today there's a mini mall on the corner, and I believe a flag store is where Gold Star used to be.

Thanks Cleat. Most of my L.A. sessions of my recording career has been in Gold Star Studios with some of the greatest Musicians in the world in all styles of Music. Thanks to Stan Ross & Dave Gold. Winking Leo J.Eiffert,Jr./Musician-BMI Songwriter & Music Publisher-Record Producer and many other things in this Music Business.
