I remember back when I first posted "Moving to Nashville" there were mixed comments, some comments stating follow your dreams and go for it others not so good.
Well I took the plunge and did the move.
Got my work visa approved.
And so glad I did follow my dream !
So far I have got to meet so many new friends and players.
Been offered great road jobs, but i am happy working with Georgette who has a great career ahead.
Got to record on Georgettes cd.
Get to work broadway on a regular basis, great fun and great practice, I get to play with some of the best Musicians in town whilst on broadway.
I must admit I love Nashville and it has been such a great a learning curve.
Im still new here in town and know I still have a lot to learn but im so thankfull to be here and that things are working out for me.
Also would like to thank Paul Franklin, Brent Mason abd Tracy Pitcox for helping me with my visa recommendation letters.
And thank you to all forum members who supported my dream !

Dreams do come true, don't they Not everyone has the same success as you, but you have to go for it if you want it.
It's uplifting to know that it has worked out well for you. Congratulations and much continued success is my wish for you. |

Jamie, I'm glad to hear it's been successful for you. And I wish you and Georgette luck in your lives and music endeavours.
You are one of the fortunate ones to be able to make a career in music in Nashville. There are many, whether from the US or from other countries, that do not make it for one reason or another.
It's also nice to see a Franklin Guitar brother doing well. |

I'm glad it's going well for you, Jamie.
All I ever wanted to do was to keep a roof over my head playing music. I believe that you're a success by any standard if you can manage that in your chosen career. For me it's been fifty years as a pro, with the last thirteen of those here in the US.
So far, so good.....
May you continue to prosper! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Its all sounding good Jamie, best thing you could have done, certainly not much music-wise to keep a player like you over here in the UK. Ill be watching your career with interest.
Cheers mate

Whew! Great Jamie, refreshing after hearing Rusty Rhodes rant on how bad Nashville is.
We make our own luck, create our own successful careers and reap what we sow, here in Nashville, just like everywhere else in the world. Looking forward to seeing you Jamie.
Guess there is a lesson to be had here.

Jamie
I was sceptical when you first mooted going to Nashville as the odds of cutting it there are so so high. You have done really well, and your networking skills have been used to the fore. People there must even be able to understand your accent. Good result for the Brits.
I think it is a great place, and love the whole vibe of the town. In fact I will be there in 6 weeks, and can't wait. As Bobbe succinctly put it - you make your own destiny. No names given here but history shows that bad attitude = short career. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator.
