This just knocks me right out. This just really shows that Paul if much much more than just a speed picking wizard but a true tone to the bone ballad player as well.
Paul was using a loaner amp (PV 1000 I think) and still got a great PF tone.

That Ms. Sears is no slouch either. Vince Gill is loving it. Musicianship. Each waiting their turn. Beautiful. |

If Paul were just a speed picking wizard then he wouldn't be one of the greatest steel players in history. Thanks for link Larry, killer stuff.
I'd like to know what Vince and Paul were saying to each another... _________________ Mark |

From the context, I'd guess they are acknowledging Paul's humanity. Notice how he finishes super-strong—he's virtually unfazed—and since what preceded and followed is so astoundingly good, though, who cares, really? Greatness isn't predicated on perfection.
If there's a takeaway beyond those things, it might be that since even the perhaps most relentlessly proficient player ever can experience a brief bobble, maybe the rest of us duffers can cut ourselves, if need be, a little slack. |
