When using the RV-5, should it be used with the reverb on the 112 or should the reverb on the amp be turned off? And, do you have to use a Boss power adapter for the Boss pedals or can you use any type/brand of adapter? I have been told that you have to use the Boss power adapter with the Boss pedals or it will ruin the pedals.
Also, while your here. What is the best way to power three pedals without buying batteries or 3 power adapters. Thanks a lot |

I've been using the Danelectro DA-1 "zero hum" AC adapter with my RV-5 and no reverb on the amp at all. It's cheap and indeed has zero hum or white noise and puts out 200 mA. The Boss RV-5 is rated on the Boss web site as needing 50ma so the Danelectro can drive 4 of those! It sells for $10.99 shipped on ebay or for $8.06 on Amazon and for a few bucks more you can be a cable with multiple power outputs. The one spot cable will work for that:

Mark, I use RV5 and I always have the amp reverb on too. I set the amp reverb to a level which would be my minimum overall setting over the course of a nights playing. I then mix in RV5 Hall to as much as necessary for the slower songs usually. This is done at the steel guitar leg with the remote controller of the steel mixer.
Delay is then mixed in as necessary.

I just got the 1 spot adaptor and a multi plug 5 cable and I hate to sound like a big dummy but the plugs don't fit my boss pedals and it says they do.
Do I need converters on the one spot cable to fit the pedals? Am I missing something here? (besides a brain)
Thanks for any help.

The Danelectro adaptor works great on Boss stomp boxes,Cost about half what the Boss adaptor will cost you. It depends on what amp you're talking about. I slightly prefer the spring reverb in my '65 Twin over the RV-5. But the RV-5 stands heads and shoulders over the reverb in any Peavey amp. I love Peavey amps and have several; I just don't care for their reverb.
You can pretty much dial in anything you want in the RV-5. I really like mine. _________________ Johnny Thomasson |
