| The musicianship is great indeed - this is live in the studio, no overdubs. But is anybody surprised? Will Lee on bass, Jimmy Vivino and a bunch of top-flight NY session guys. Ringers all, great stuff. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but this material is timeless, I think a tip of the hat is in order. |

Definitely not "ho hum" Bill! These guys are brilliant! I think the Time Jumpers could pull something like this off in a studio setting... maybe not Beatles, but certainly some breathtaking 1 take stuff.

I have tix to see them on 10/23 in LA at the Orpheum. Paul McCartney says that they are his favorite cover band (after hearing them play "Tomorrow never knows" live).

IMO it is hard to top "Rain: The Beatles Experience" as you can see on YouTube for example here

(Oh, and by the way, I'll pass your thoughts along to the conductor of every orchestra in the country: totally unimpressive, didn't write it, uncreative, what's the point, blah, blah, blah...)

What is impressive (for those that need explanation) is the flawless execution. Harmony's, transitions, and the exact replication of the sound effects, balance of the original vocals and instrumentation, etc takes what was an "only in the studio album", which I doubt even the beatles could have pulled off live, and pulling it off flawlessly. The live setting also illustrates, in case we forgot, just how amazing the original music was.
I used to go see the Frank Zappa tribute band and there is something about seeing this music performed live that emphasizes the power of the compositions, instrumentation, harmonys and arrangements. It also reminds us of a time when people could write popular music that was performed, not some backing track, that required real musicianship and compositional ability, and also reminds us that we will not see their like again. |

| If it was being performed in front of an audience I could understand. Whats the point of doing it in a studio? I fully get the Philharmonic thing. Been there. They did it right. I just don't understand who they are doing it for. |

They did it for a live radio broadcast on Howard Stern's show. These guys have been doing this as a sideline for a long time. A friend recently went to see them at Radio City Music Hall for John Lennon's birthday.

Pretty cool Rick...!
My band used to play most of that side live, when I owned Casa Coyotes' up here in Arrowhead.
Lemme tell ya, it is NOT easy to make it sound good, but it IS a blast!
Those guys did it great.
