Too bad I'll be away that night; sounds great. Any chance of recording and archiving it for later listening?

Jim there is nothing to record unless it is something that looks like a court transcript.

It's a chatroom where you type in your questions and Reece types his answers, and folks pitch in comments here or there.

Bummer. I have to miss it too. I have to give an out-of-town presentation for my job.

If I were around, the bad thing about that timing is that there is going to be a country music oriented show revolving around Johnny Cash that evening, because two days later the Johny Cash movie starring Joaquin Phoenix comes out.

Get those vcr's and tivo machines ready!

Mark.. INCORRECT... LOTS to record..I am not sure if Reece is going to allow recording, but Randy Beavers did, he was talking much of the time, and playing live etc... It is WAY more than typed words!!.. MOST of the time spent in the roon is talking, and listening... yes you CAN type, but the guests that do these seminars are a wealth of SPOKEN information..and lots of good live playing examples... There were DOZENS of guys recording Randy's seminar.. A little R shows as to when a listener is recording..

you would be shocked at the pros that show up here on a pretty regular basis to talk with us... I suspect we'll be JAMMED during Reece's seminar.. I'll be there unless I'm dead, dying, or gigging.... bob

I think the chatroom is an excellent resource to share ideas, wonderful music and our love of the steel guitar. I was traveling last week and was unable to listen to Randy. I plan to participate every opportunity I get.

Thanks to Randy, Del Mullen, Reece in advance, and everyone else in the future for sharing so graciously.

All the best,

Jerry

Bob, I stand corrected.

I had not visited the site yet and was unaware of the format.

That said, I would suggest a name change-the format is called a web conference, which is a lot different than a regular old chatroom-where you type in an item and others respond, and there is nothing to "hear."

Sorry, Jim, I didn't mean to insult your intelligence-but since it isn't a chatroom in the tradtional sense (or as "traditional" as anything can be on the internet-since it is still so young), I thought perhaps you hadn't spent any time in one before.

Now I'm REALLY bummed out that I have a business engagement!

This sounds great! I'll tell you in the time I spent with Reece recording our CD "Out Of Nowhere" I heard great stories insights etc. He has a great insight into music and history. We even had a hero in common, Johnny Gimble. I found out Johnny was one of his first steel teachers, wow.

Its going to be a pleasure to have the honor of speaking with as many players as possible next Wednesday evening.

Should someone wish to record the conversations, I have absolutely no objections.

Get your topics, suggestions, comments and questions together, and I'll look forward to "enjoying the evening" with each of you.

It was a super couple of hours. Lots of good questions and excellent answers. Had over 90 players in the room at one time. I certainly enjoy these seminar type sessions.

It was a sincere pleasure to be in the very dignified chat room with so many kind and courteous people.

I want to personally thank Fred Shannon, Don Poland, and Ray Walker for contacting me and making it all possible.

I also want to thank everyone who participated by being there, and for the many emails I have since received.

I'll look forward to doing it again in the near future, and in the meantime I'll be joining in the conversations in the chat room from time to time.
