Hi guys,
I am trying to figure out the right way to connect my
TubeFex to the Walker Stereo Steel amp, so I can use
all the tone controls etc. on the amp. I'm clue less. Confused Confused
Right now I have the L & R outputs of TubeFex, pluged
into the L & R inputs on the back of the amp, but can't
get the good sound I want, with it wired up that way.
Would sure appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

I let mine go along with the manual, but I'm thinking you want to just plug your guitar from volume pedal in the input jack on the front and run your Tubefex in the loop jacks in the back.

You can use 4 cables and go in and out for L & R or just run 3, one cable from [L] mono Tfex out to [L] mono SS input and then stereo out for both.

I forget how the Walker jacks are marked, but you can switch the send/return connections around if you hook 'em up backwards.

Right now, you have it hooked up to bypass the Walker preamp/ eq sections and using the Tubefex for a preamp the way you have it wired already.

Carl,

I would recommend that you call Gerry Walker at a/c
619-460-5008 and visit with him on exactly how to connect your system ! Gerry built that very fine amp and is real nice to talk to ! He will help folks out when they are playing his amp ! He has some great sounding stuff and all of it is user friendly !

Thanks guys. I just got it back from Gerry yesterday.
He updated it and replaced some parts for me. I tried
all configurations Jerry, but only get the dry sound if I
go thru the amps preamp and eq. Bypassing works fine.
Guess I'll have to call Gerry to get it figured out.
Thanks again. Carl

Hmmm! Well, GD will get you on the right track, that's for sure. What a fine fella and electronics wizard. Plays pretty good steel too. Good Luck.

When in St. Louis, I like to take a break an go listen to him.
I just talked to Gerry, and got it done. "HE DA' MAN" for sure.

Carl, I also use a Walker Steel Amp with a Tubefex and I currently use it as you describe, but the folks a Peavy told me that it had to have the effects loop (FX) programmed into the chain to use the send-return jacks.(see manual ??) I got mine to work once, but I had noise, probably from the Tubefex, so I went back to currently just using the Tubefex as my pre-amp and the Walker as the final. Good Luck. Ron

Hi Ron, I was using mine like you are and didn't like the sound.
Gerry told me how to hook it up, to use the amps preamp and FX
and it sure sounds better now. The only FX I really like is 112E.
Some of the others are way too loud, or make all kinds of noise.
Then others create a hum, or just sound crappy on the steel Laughing Laughing Laughing
You probably know how to hook it up like mine is now,
but if not,
let me know and I'll pass along the way I have mine set up.

Hi Ron, Hope this helps. This is how I've got mine wired up.
This way, you plug your steel in either the SS or TubeFex,
on the front and can have different tones and EQ's on both. Smile
Do you know how to delete the garbage files we don't use.
