| If ever a show was poised to fade into mediocrety this one can..The Band is great and the talented singers that play in it are also great..But after listening to Jett Williams do one song,there is no Williams talent there..Flat,out of pitch and just plain there because of her daddys name..That brings the show down..As someone said a few threads ago about Tru-Country it is something when the band (sidemen) are better than the featured singer..I have taken this show off my auto Tivo list and will check the programing listings of who's on particular shows.. |

I agree with Joe on everything he said about Jett Williams. I would not think Hank Sr or Hank Jr would want to claim her either?
As for the listing, when I checked before the show came on, it had Darrell McCall & Heather Myles listed for that show??
As you said about the band - SUPERB is all I can say there!!!!!!

I understand that the show is built on Artist CD promotion..Of what value a few of them are to the label I'd question..This Show would be good if it only featured the band..However Curtis Potter,Tony Booth,Daryl Mcall Leslie,Justin,Heather,Leona,Amber are great for the show..I can only imagine what any young new to Country Music person would have thought about the music listening to the likes of Jett Williams..

| Right on Joe. I was thinking the same thing as I was squirming in my chair watching her last night. She'll melt the wax in your ears. Has no business being on stage. I felt sorry for the players having to put up with it. She keeps on talikng about "my Daddy" like he's a meal ticket or something. Pathetic. |

All true.. But I gladly sat thru the one bad song to hear Jake. Great singer and bass player!! and oh yea, there's always Rick and Bobby..
My only axe to grind is the so-called MC?? Wish he'd talk less and let the others talk more..

| I like the show. But something about it just misses the mark. I think part of it is where it takes place. That stage way above the people there bothers me. Marty gets 7 songs in plus the theme song intro and outro. Trucountry gets five songs total in it's time. That part sucks. |

| I agree, Larry. There's definitely something off-putting about the band being so far removed from it's audience. Musicianship aside, Marty's show seems much more personal, and therefore, much more enjoyable to me than Tru Country. |

I would feel bad somewhat if this show is cancelled..It features some of Texas's best and probably anywhere now in Country music.And the exposure they recieve is deserved...But when they bring in (Gabby)Rockwell  and outsider amateurish singers, the Show takes a dip..More music, less B.S. |

Joe, the show isn't on cable where I live so I've never seen it. Is Jett Williams a regular in the cast? If so, I'll have to agree with you! We had her here as the featured artist for our annual George D. Hay dinner & dance put on by the Virginia Country Music Association some years back and she totally sucked. It's a good thing it was a "dance" as the band she had were pretty good and laid down a good beat but her vocals were pretty mediocre.....JH in Va.

Well I had to play yesterday, and drove home fast to watch it.
Only saw the last part when she sang. What a waste of time.
Then I saw Bill A. on Larry's Diner, and he was just as bad.

| I agree with alot of what you say, but I'm just so glad to have something to watch that has any good honkey tonk music at all, that I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone that produces a TV show had to start somewhere. If it takes more than the normal amount of commercials to get it done, then so be it. It could be a lot better, but if RFD keeps giving them the exposure maybe they can advance the quality. I'm of German heritage, but when I push all the buttons on my FM radio and find the Mexican music to be the best on, I'll gladly watch TruCountry. (nothing against Mexican music I like a lot of it too, but for a traditonal country fan, well you get the idea). And God bless Marty Stuart too. |

I also saw Bill Anderson on the Diner show. I feel about him the way I've felt about Ralph Stanley the past several years, just hang it up and go home. Bill was so bad that I was embarassed for country music and actually sqirmed a bit during Jan and his songs. Dang it was bad. The back up lead guitar was great though. Very simple but correct and good licks.

I don't understand. You bitch about not enough traditional country on radio and TV and when Bill Anderson is on you bad mouth him. Yeah, maybe he's sang better in his younger days, but look at what a career he's had. If you don't like it, turn your TV over to CMT and watch Brad Paisley, etc...videos, of their corny songs.

TruCountry is filmed in Texas at a dance. For those of you not from around here people dance in Texas. If they were sitting in chairs up close to the bandstand it would not be a Texas dance. That is the point of the show, It's a dance on TV. Your TV still has an off button. Can't please you guys if you were hung with a new rope. Get your own show and do it your way.
BTW, I did'nt like Hank Sr., Jr, The third or Jett. But she is only one thorn of many roses on that show.

And that, for me at least, is where it falls short as entertainment. I do not watch the "show" in it's entirety on any kind of a regular basis.

I was commenting on his singing, and no, IMO he didn't sing any better in his younger days, either. "Whisperin' Bill" has had a great career more on his strengths as a writer than a singer. |

Wow, the way you people are complaining, you'd think she (Jett) couldn't hold a note! I just checked out a bunch of YouTubes of her, and while I wouldn't call her a great singer, I thought she was perfectly serviceable.
