Gaylon, do you know what song you'll play on the Letterman show? And will it have a steel solo at all? Bein a night owl I'll definetly be wathching. I love it when there's steel guitar on national TV.

Billy,

We are only doing one song on Letterman which will be "All Jacked Up." I play slide on that tune so I'll be playing my Melobar. The Today Show, Regis & Kelly and the Opry will have pedal steel. The CMT special is all dobro.

Gaylon, are you going to be playing your Rains? The new one you ordered is your second, right?

Chris,

The Rains that I have now is a loaner sent to me to try out. I liked it so much I ordered one for my own (different color and set up) but it won't be ready until sometime in November. Because it's a loaner and I'm being careful not to ding it up on the road, it stays with me in Nashville while my GFI, which is in a flight case, stays on our semi. I'll probably use the Rains on the Opry and the GFI in New York.

I'm playing a loaner too. I did my first gig with it Sat. I really like the feel, not to mention the tone. My new one is on order, and I can't wait.

Gaylon, I don't have TV but I'll see if I can get my folks to tape some of those shows so I can catch you on air. I still remember your great playing at Hi-Fi Buys Amphitheater in Hotlanta a year or so ago. Keep up the great pickin'!

Don't slide or steel when you're all jacked up,
Chris

There's a fly in the ointment! Regis & Kelly has now been moved to Wednesday instead of Monday.

Gaylon, congrats on these gigs. Sounds like a lot of fun. I have been thinking about getting one of those melobars. They look really cool.

Chris S. have you retired the old Emmons? Dang, I was just getting the hang of it. Guess I'll have to learn to play your new one now.
