This amp is all original and in very good condition.I had it on local CL but everyone wanted to trade,no money..I will not ship,local pickup only..Cash on the barrel head..Asking $1600.00..E-mail for more info..Thank you....PJ...

Fender Amp Field Guide says it's a 63..I doubt that Fender had black face handles in 61..I might be wrong..
edited to add.The ser.#53131 says it's a 62.Just dunno..I do know that a Tele really marries up great with this amp. |

| In the picture it still has the original dogbone handle posts.It looks like it received a new blackface handle later. The other indicator is the speaker date code of the 46th week of 1961. So it's probably a late 61 or early 62. Either way its a real gem, especially with the original oxford alnicos. |

Dave, Where do you see the speaker date code of 46 week of 1961? Also, how can you tell if there are orignal Oxford alnico magnets?
I've got an amp like this but it says SUPER AMP rather than CONCERT AMP on front . Is this basically the same amp? The speaker has a wire which plugs into the back of the amp. Thanks, stevet

The speaker code is stamped on the frame just above and to the left of center in the photo. 465 stands for Oxford and the 146 46th week of 1961. There are similar date code stamped on the transformers most likely begining with 606. That was Woodward-Schumacher. It could have Triad trannies in it. they would be 830.

The handle was replaced, I can see the old mounts for the original dog-bone are still there!

Steve, your amp is a Super Amp. Basically the same amp with a little less power. 2 10 inch speakers and a tube rectifier. Also an awesome amp. I could be stranded on a desert island with either for sure! |

I've also got a Tweed Super,Late 58 or
59.. It needs restoration..If I sell this Concert the Super will be sent to Ken for his majic touch..
But here's the one I don't want to part with..I use it for harp and crunchy lead guitar.

The tremelo on these amps IS to die for. It is why they have so many pre-amp tubes. Best Tremelo ever.

Thanks, Rich, I saw those numbers on the speaker but they did not mean me much to me. One has to be a secret againt to figure that stuff out! And thank you, Dave, for that site information on the SUPER.
I need to check the amp again in a few days as I think it only has a single speaker rather than dual 10s. Maybe they were switched out before I got it. How many watts are the CONCERT, VIBROSONIC, DELUXE and the SUPER amps?

Steve, here is a link to EIA codes. It gives most of the manufactures in our industry and explains the date code system in a little more detail. Great stuff for any vintage gear nut.

My dad played one of these back in the '60s. It had 4 ten inch Jensens in it. He used a Mosrite Ventures Model guitar and what a sound! Big fat sound with that wonderful Fenders punch. The Tolex had been painted black and grill painted silver. He also had a Fender reverb unit in the mix, too. Les
