Nick Ransome, you are so right, the show was good from start to finish. It's not the first time I've been to the show and I've enjoyed them all, but this one was the best...so far! And Terry, you and Rob Parker somehow managed to keep the thing on schedule and that's a hard thing to do. As said, it was an enjoyment from start to stop. The good Lord willing I will return next year. |

Ransome, he was the distinguished looking gentleman sitting to my right. One thing I can say for sure about Jerry is that he is one of the most unselfish musicians I have ever been around. I wish I had met him when we were both young so that I could say: Jerry Foster, yeah, I've known him for 40 years and he's a heckuva guy. Again, the Marshfield show was great fun and looking forward to next year. |

Terry put on another great show this year. Thank you Terry.
I especially enjoyed Jimmy Dreadful Water and his family. I had never heard of them before Terry listed them on his schedule, but now I will never forget them. They were exceptionally funny and played the kind of music that I love. I hope Terry gets them back next year.
It was a pleasure getting to hear Herby Wallace. It is always nice to see a legend in action.
Thank you to Bobby Garrett, Jerry Roller, Mike McGee, Lonnie Detmeyer, and Jimmy Dreadful Water for letting me play piano behind them. It is an honor to get to play with musicians of the caliber Terry books on this show.
Thanks also to Wayne Florang, Kevin Haffey, Johnny Spaugh, Jack Wilson, Lisa Ray, Jimmy Queen, Stella Queen, Leon Lindsay, Jim Morris, Jim Buttrey, and all of the other musicians who served in the backup band at one time or another. As good as the steel guitar sounds, it sounds much better when there is a backup band to lay down the foundation the steel guitarist can build on. _________________ Very truly yours,

Just wanted to say thanks to all of the great players and support for this year's 5th Annual Marshfield Steel Guitar Show!
Wow, what a show! I was exhausted by the time it was over but we had the best yet!
Herby Wallace was just super! I've been a fan of his for over 30 years and just a super player and super gentleman. His CD titled "Mr. Wallace and Company" is in my turn table player all the time these days.
Austin Stewart was one of my favorite players this year! I have been trying to get him here to Marshfield for 3 years and this year we kidnapped him. I have heard alot of great talent but Austin is on top of it. Austin and dad thanks a million, and we hope you can be with us again next year.
As David mentioned Jimmy Dreadful Water Family Band just super job! We want you all to come back and play next year. I loved Jimmy's closing fiddle tune "Black Mountain Rag."
Another favorite player for me this year was Virgil Watts, accompanied by daughter Starla and Jimmy Queen. Virgil plays so good on that classic triple neck 1950s Fender steel. He play some great tunes but my favorite was is love Ballad song "Tammy." Just super job on that song.
My good friend Mr. Keith Hilton, I loved your Ralph Mooney steel sound! Great job and selection of tunes!
Mr. Lonnie Detmer from Pratt, KS, I enjoyed your classic Speedy West song and your set. Thanks again for coming to be with us Lonnie.
Many thanks to Bobby Garrett for his playing, singing and help getting players in and out!
We just coudn't do this show without everybody's help, support, and many talents! Special Thanks to all my friends Rob Parker, Michael McGee, Jerry and Carlene Roller, Jimmie and Marlene Sentlinger, Phil 'Rooster' Armstrong, Ray Campbell, Jim Morrison, Jim Buttrey, Jerry Foster, Lisa Ray, Kevin Haffey, Jackie Wilson, Leon Lindsey, John Spaugh and David Tunnell, Chester Wood, Jerry and Venda Hanley, Ken Gresham and Susan Arndt, Mr and Mrs. Dalton Perryman, Don Hicks, and all the other great talent and help this year! Hope I didn't forget anyone. Thanks ya'll!!!!
Hope to see you all down the road and here again next year 2011 for the 6th Annual Marshfield Steel Guitar Show!
Thanks again and may GOD bless!

Jimmy, we sure enoyed your contribution to the Marshfield Show. You and Starla's participation really added a lot. My wife and I have always been fascinated with your expertise on the drums. Several years ago you came to Tom Brumley and Scotty's Show at the 76 Theater in Branson and that was the first time we heard you play. Wish you could come to our Ozark Steel Guitar Show in Branson sometime! _________________ Jerry and Venda |
