I don't use anything but Jagwires. They don't break and they sound great. I get them right here from B0B, fast service and don't forget to add a little $ to support the Forum!

Hi, Danny - my supply of strings for the Summer has arrived, and I'm looking forward to trying Paul's gauges - especially that .012" third string! I hope my Emmons doesn't get upset at the extra weight...
Thanks, as always, for the fine service - Jagwire are my favourites (and the pic of PF is rather cool! )
We open here in Medora, ND next Wednesday (weather permitting!), and there's lotsa steel guitar in the show. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Roger,
I changed to the push/pull E9 set which also uses a .012" third and it didn't seem to bother anything. So I doubt that you will have any problem on your LaGrande. I sure like them on my P/P and Danny is great to do business with.
Also, Roger, wanted you to know I always enjoy your posts and insight.

Allen, as a general rule, we usually ignore ALL coorospondence from Michigan musicians, but only Michigan, no others.
Seriously Allen, I truly regret that we didn't receive your email. Sometimes things like this happen in the world of computers and electronic communications, and we're not even aware of it. In any event, I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you have. You can email me directly at:
pedalsteel@peoplepc.com, or call us at: 989-539-7808. If we're unavailable to take your call, leave us a message and we'll call you back a.s.a.p. You can also post your question here on the Forum if you prefer. _________________ http://www.jagwirestrings.com |

I have never had a problem getting info from Danny. He not only knows strings but, is a great mechanic on steel guitars also. Don't be so quick to jump to the wrong conclusion.email is not a perfect way of communicating.. |

Hi, Bud - well said!
Jim:
We're still in rehearsal here (well, we actually open tonight, but the weather's looking a bit iffy; who knows???!) so I haven't had a chance to try the new sets. Right now I use the 'David Spires Nickel E9' and I'm more than satisfied with them, but I've always had a yen to beef up that 3rd string, so I asked for some PF sets too.
Strangely enough I popped a 5th string in rehearsal yesterday and so had to grab what was nearest - I'll change 'em all at the weekend. (Darn! I can play without a 3rd, but that B string is right at the heart of everything, isn't it? I throw in the towel if I break that one!)
Thanks for your kind comment - I fear that puts you in the minority, but it's appreciated... ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Roger:
In my seventy seven years I have seen a lot of pickers come and go. Let me assure you, from my point of view you are the real deal. You have always been there with patience and understanding for us wanna bees.To explain as you do, in terms that are easy to understand, always amazed me. Your biography is very interesting and I know there is a lot I don't now about your career.I know you have performed with some great folks.
You also have a great lady and you can play barefoot too....wow !
Have a great summer in North Dakota.

I rarely break a third, or any other, between changes, and I sometimes go months between changes...also, I play (or at least go thru the motions) every day.

I too ONLY use Jagwire. Mainly because of the string first; as it stood to me to be the most stable string I've played and takes less tension to pull. But second; came the great person Danny is and very attentive to any need I had. AS said on here; Email is just one way to communicate and is not always the most reliable. Before jumping to conclusions of how you want to do business; it can do you well to Jump a little farther than a baby step, and you may find it was worth the jump.

Whatever it itakes to get a set is worth it. I use the Push-pull set and the Lloyd Green set. The ones that have broke were because I went way past time to change. |

I just read Danny's answer to my post about my not getting a response from an internet (website) question. Yeah, I thought it had something to do with Michigan musicians, especially those who play banjo. Ok, that said you bet I'll order Jagwire strings for my two steels! |
