WAIKIKI BEACH WALK STEEL GUITAR FESTIVAL - SUNDAY, JULY 4th, 2010 -- 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM --The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Assn, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Territorial Airwaves, and others are supporting the event with help from KeKulaMele.com.
The Steel Guitarist will play at the Plaza Stage at Waikiki Beach Walk. The concert will feature many of today's great Hawaiian steel guitarists in a special day to celebrate the signature sound of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Steel Guitar! Steel guitarists include Alan Akaka, Greg Sardinha, Jeff Ah Hoy, Casey Olsen, & many others.
A steel guitar seminar precedes the concert at 1:00 PM. |

Don,
There will also be two up and coming steelers on the bill. Timi Abrigo, who is under the tutelage of Ron Kanahele and Kilipaki Vaughan, who is a haumana of Alan Akakaʻs. I know Alan is very excited about this festival, not only because it is bringing well established artists out to the public, but because it will introduce some very promising talent like Timi and Paki. I encourage anyone who is in the area to make it out to the festival. |
