I use Teflon based car polish. Been using it for years and my 81 Franklin's mica is just like it was when it was built. I use the polish on everything, polished aluminum surfaces and fretboards. Eliminates fingerprints from handling the guitar and only needs an "annual polishing".

What I have now is a flea market polish labeled "Las Vegas Show Car Polish". It goes by many names at different flea markets but is basically the same.

The Teflon "polish" is really more a protector than a "polish". Can't say it has hurt it since the 1981 guitar still looks almost new.
