Did a session today with Roy at Sugarhill in Houston. Roy still sounds great! He is 68 now, but boy, does he have some pipes. It's good to see him still actively recording and touring. jc |

Hi JC. I did a couple of things with Roy Head several years ago. Very high energy. He brought his own red carpet to do his knee slides. Let me hear from you. JB. PS Were the songs rock or country orientated? |

Ha! Hi JB...he didn't do the splits in the studio today, but there was PLENTY of energy! Mostly country stuff today; we re-cut "Most Wanted Woman" and several others. We also did "Tonight's the Night". jc |

I played with Roy in the 70's at the Exit/In in Nashville. I was always on the lookout for flying mic stands, and his gymnastics in a Nudie Jumpsuit. I was just glad my Twin didn't go to 12, he had me wide open, and wanted more. Definately some fun there, but hard on the ears.

Jody, I used to work with a drummer/singer in the LA area named Monte Paul who fancied himself a comedian too. He did a couple of Roy's tunes and always introduced them by saying "Here's a tune by Roy Head, he gives good song!"......JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Jack, we did re-cut "Come to Me" yesterday as well. I don't know the release timeline yet since the project is in the beginning stages. But if you're interested, I'll try and keep you posted. Thanks, jc |

|
|
Back in the 80's when I lived in Houston, I had the extreme pleasure of playing steel on the job with Roy Head. Man, he could act totally goofy & majorly freak-out on stage when he wanted too! I was blown away by his antics! I couldn't stop laughing, which at times made it difficult to play! But, it was a great experience for me. He was probably the best showman I have ever had the very good luck to play with. I remember off stage he was a very nice down-to-earth person, too! I'll never forget it! |
