Hi, I hope someone out there can help me sort this song out that has been running through my head for last three days. I seem to recall a song, uptempo with the words 'Your Sweet Sweet Lips....' Think it was done late 50's or 60's by Webb Pierce. I want to get my hands on a copy before it drives my crazy. Appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Wayne Wallett

Wayne, There is a Webb Pierce song titled Sweet Lips that was recorded in 1961. Do a google search and it will bring up some links for you to try.

Caution: Watch out for pop ups and other malicious garbage on these music sites. Don't click on anything you don't know or understand.

Sorry, can't help you more with the melody.

I believe that "Sweet Lips" by Webb was issued in Ernest Tubb's Midnight Jamboree album. I tried to find my copy to verify this but could not find it. Other songs in the album were "Boy With a future" by Jerry Hanlon, "The Hand You're Holding Now" by Kitty Wells, "The Same Thing as Me" and "I hate to See You Go" by ET, a song by Linda Flanagan, a song by the Wilburn Brothers, "Shoes" by Patsy Cline, and "Rose City Chimes" by Buddy Emmons. (If my memory serves me right). Perhaps you can find it in cd form...mine is vinyl.

Yeah Ben. I just ran across that ET record with Webb singing Sweet Lips on youtube. The record jacket shows the Big E playing on the album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4wTQ6cj5KM

I have a copy of Ernest Tubb`s "Midnight Jamboree" album and I just listen to it 2 weeks ago. I remember listen on the radio to Webb`s "Sweet, Sweet, Lips" in 1961,and it was played frequintly on country stations at that time. It sounds like Pete Drake played the steel on the orginal recording. Does anyone know for sure?
