I recently bought a lap steel and I am just itching to learn how to play it. This is my first steel guitar of any kind and I would love to learn how to play. Can someone please direct me to a place in central Ohio or any websites where I can get some instruction? Any advice and help is welcome.

Thanks,
Paul

What tuning would you like to use? Do you have any previous musical experience? There are a number of links on my web site that might be helpful.

I am currenty tuned to c6th, but seeing as how I have no experience with a steel I am open to suggestions. My musical experience includes 13 years of piano lessons, in addtion to playing bass and drums as well as singing in a southern gospel quartet.

Thanks

Paul,

If you haven't done so already, avail yourself to the many complimentary video lessons found here at my site.

You'll find tunings, songs, riff, licks, and an ever expanding array of offerings, including a free TAB and backing track for your practicing pleasure.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope you enjoy.

Josh

I really like the GeorgeBoards material. I have most of George's stuff and it helped me alot in learning.

I believe I read something about John Ely doing lessons over the internet on Skype...might be worth looking into.
