I got this some time ago, and when I did it was missing the pickup. I thought that would be easy, but it wasn't as tall as the ones Lashley makes now so he kindly made me one from old specs. If you look at the pics you can see some screw holes from a previous mounting when someone had a different pickup on it. There's a bracket for a volume pedal but one is not included as I don't have it. Pots, wiring and knobs are new, and new strings (E9 set) but new owner will have to get this set up properly as I don't know how. Has the original hard case, missing three of the rubber feet but I'll get some to fit. Not sure of age but I'm guessing it's an older one. I'm asking $750 plus whatever shipping comes out to. Email with questions. This and the Sierra posted separately are the only two steels I have, incidentally, and I promise not to dominate the classifieds with more stuff for awhile. Thanks for looking. My email, if someone needs to contact me offlist, jkally3@cox.net

Yes, these are killer sounding steels...just listen to Doug Beaumier play one as it should be played:

Also, I could be wrong, but I believe Ron Jr. recently used my '70s Emmons GS-10 (now with 4 KLs) to get the specs to build John's pickup. Mine sounds great and I'm sure John's does, too.
FYI -- Although the fingers are little shorter, the Emmons student models used essentially the same bolt-on changer found on the Pro push-pull models.
I'm sure someone will be VERY happy with this guitar!

I brought this in to my repairman to look at the "fingerboard" which is glued to the top and had shifted a bit. Anyway, he decided he couldn't live without it so it's now his (and I got a 1930s National in trade, a project but more my speed). Thanks for all the emails and interest. Next I'll be revising the price on my other steel, the Sierra, so watch for a bargain. |
