Hi,

we play on some small stages and it would be helpful (we think) to use some sort of goosneck mic connector so that our steel player has his mic not on a regular stand... preferably connected to his steel so he can sing... he doesn't want a headset and using a regular mic stand has proven hazardous to his teeth as our rhythm player keeps bonking into his stand....

Any suggestions?

You could try one of these:

I've been playing on some very small stages and tight rehearsal spaces too.
I just received one of these clip on mic stands and it seems to be the solution.

You could also go to the drum dept of any big music store. You wouldn't believe all the gadgets that drummers have.

My mic stand and boom from Al Risbeck works perfect! It even fits in my steel case. Nothing extra to carry.

FWIW, this came up about a year ago. Here's a link to another thread:

Just contact Al Resbeck and he will fix you up. I have seen several of his music stands, mic stands, etc that attach to the leg of your steel and do not mar the finish.

I've used a headset mic for about 20 years, far better idea and it's always in the right place when you need to sing or do BV's ! Very Happy
