Looking for and instructor around the Mesquite Tx area if you know anything about the steel you know more than me and I could really use some instructions.

Don, you might get in touch with Norris Family Music in Mesquite. The monthly meetings of the Texas Steel Guitar Association are held there. I don't know if they have anyone teaching steel, but they might be able to recommend someone. Look up their web site and you can find more information about the store. |

Don,
One of the all time greats is in Keller. It would be about an hour drive for you from Mesquite, but the time spent with Maurice Anderson is well worth it IMHO. You can find his number on the MSA website.
