I love the steel guitar. I love it so much,my wife calls it "the other woman". I guess she ought to be thankful for the steel guitar. When I am home I am on the forum or sitting behind my steel or listening to great steel guitar music. I tell you eat sleep and breath steel guitar. Some may think I am crazy.

Tommy, I know what you mean. My wife, who is my biggest supporter and fan, sometimes makes comments about my hobby. I tell her I have my steel, you have the Nancy Grace show, Jane Valez-Mitchel, and Show Biz Tonight. We have a laugh and I go practice or to the computer and the forum. Very Happy Very Happy

My ex-wife used to refer to my steel as the "other woman" as well and she was very jealous of it saying I spent more time with it than I did her ... I gave her at least three hours of the day; what more could she ask? Laughing

My wife ( this is my second wife)is very understanding. She knows I have to keep my playing up. in order for me to hone my skills.
I guess I'll keep her around. I mean, she's a great cook and all.

Very cool, Tommy.

My ex-wife and I are actually good friends now that we're divorced and, believe it or not, now that we're divorced she's finally supportive of my music and is glad I'm getting back into steel guitar.

If I ever end up with a second wife, I hope she'll be a steel player, too ... I'm guessing such an arrangement would be a marriage made in heaven. Very Happy

I have been trying to play the steel guitar since 1948 and have had three wifes, two passed, and they all knew that they had to compete with the steel, even the the one I have know. Chuck

My wife became a musicians widow on our wedding day, back in October of '99. The band I was playing with at the time played at the reception, I brought the "Other Woman" along and played some songs with the band plus I brought my acoustic and sang a few too.
