I have an Owens reso square neck which I bought from Richie Owens. He was having them manufactured, I think, in Tennessee and finishing them up in Oakland CA. I really like the instrument and believe the company is defunct. I wonder if anyone out there can fill me in on more specifics like, who actually made the guitar and details about the "proprietary" pick up system. Does anyone else have one of these?

I'm pretty certain that those guitars were made by Crafters of Tennessee. At one time Mark Taylor and Richie Owens had a business relationship. Richie worked for Gibson prior to that.

If you contact Mark he can tell you if he made yours.
