Could someone out there who has a fender 1000 give me a few measurements?I would like the overall length of the wood body not counting the metal frame and also the length of the scale on these guitars.I'm building a homemade body for some old fender parts I have.Making me a non pedal double neck similar to fender specs. Thanks George

My 61 has a 24 1/2 inch scale length. The table without the metal surround measures 36 1/8 inches by 6 inches on both necks. Fender also came out with a shorter scale version in the mid 60's that was 22 inches. Hope that helps.

The shorter scale was introduced about 1964 and is 23 inches. The wooden body on my short scale 400 is 8 x 35 inches. The string width at the nut is approx. 2.25" at the nut and 2.75" at the changer. HTH.

As Micheal noted, the short scale models measure 23".

George, you might also post on the Fender Steel Forum if you need things.
