First recording

I have been a member for over a half year now.
I am from Youngwood Pennsylvania.We moved here from Latrobe Pennsylvania because of my dad's job change.

I am 15 years old and started playing the pedal steel guitar 2 1/2 years ago.
I wanted to play this instrument for a long time and my mother is very good friends with my mentor and his wife.
My mentor is Ron Steenwijk.He is like my idol on the steel guitar.

I will try to post a song that I finished recording last night in Ron's studio

Hi Jerry, That sure sounds good. Your going to be a great player.
I used to live in Long Pond, Pa. by the Pocono race track, and played
in N.Y. Pa, and Jersy for years, until I quit playing in 1984.
Stay with it, and you'll find yourself playing in some great clubs
in that area. There are lots of good clubs around in your area.

Super job! Great tone! I'm impressed!

And I agree, you can't beat ol' Jimbo, especially "Hell Have To Go". It's one of the first songs I ever "remember" hearing, playing with my toys on the living room floor while my mother bustled about with her housework.

Thank you so much for these kind words.I still have a long way to go to get as far as you guys but I am trying.
I am trying to study "Old dogs, children and watermelon wine" right now.
I will record it and put it on the forum when I am done with it.

Ellis, yes Ron is pretty proud of me.He has been teaching me for over 2 years now.
He practically hammered the basics in me.Month after month he had me study blocking, bar technique, pedals, knee levers, finger picks and chord progressions.
Thanks to him I came this far.
