I've noticed that Williams makes some of the prettiest steel guitars, ever.
Do they sound just as good __ if they are not black?
To you with discriminating taste:
How would you rate their sound on a scale of 1 thru 10,
10 being an Emmons PP? |

I would have to say the tone of my Willy, as compared to my Sho-Bud, Fessy,Emmons pp or any other i have owned or played, the Willy with a tru tone, has a ton of growl. At least thats how Bill explains it. i tend to agree! Did i mention sustain? The growling sustainer.Yes they do play as pretty as they look!!! |

I couldn't be more pleased with mine. You can probably tell I like blue
Erv, how come you need so many "fly swatters' hanging under your Willy?

Just ask him to wear his kilt and let the wind do the rest. |

Williams fretboards have differently colored position markers on different instruments.
Is there an early and later fretboard; or can they be "custom color" ordered? |

Hey Erv N. and Ryan M., now you guys got me all conflicted, I cannot decide which of the two I like the best so I guess it's a tie and you both win the color scheme award..IMHO, of course. |

Bill has toned down his fretboards the last few years.
He had some guitars at the Wisconsin Rapids steel show and one of the guitars had basically a flat black fretboard with very subtle white fret markers.
When he built mine, I told him the only thing I didn't like about his guitars was the fretboards.
(So I him put on Fessenden fretboards) I really like the longhorn design. |
