Hi,
Can anyone ID this guitar, and maybe give some idea of its value? I've owned it for maybe 15 years and played a few times, Im mostly a stringmaster guy. It doesn't have legs just a rubber pad on the bottom. Any help would be appreciated.

What a beautiful piece.
Those are so unusual, I don't think too many people could put a value on it.
Is there a case?

I think the value could only be determined at auction.
Personally, I love it. I'm sure I've payed more than that's worth for things that are worth less. |

Mike,
I would guess $1200 to $1500 for a National D8. Maybe a bit more. It is hard to say right now because the market is down a bit with the economy in the toilet. If you decide to sell her give me a shout. That thing would look great on my lap.

Like stated above, that is a D8 National New Yorker-style console, from ca. 1936-38. If the electronics work and you want to sell it one day, here is a New Yorker-aholic you can give a shout too. 
I have a picture of this in a repro National catalog - will look that up when I get a moment and post more info.

Yeah, count me in if you're tired of it! It's an
exotic steel. Appears to be two totally independent
necks with seperate controls and seperate output jacks? Would it require two amps or a dual channel
or can it be summed into one channel?

Thanks guys, the info really helped. I had no idea it was that old.
It has a nice case made of wood with a cream colored covering. It came with a cord that sums the necks togeather into a 1/4 output. It sounds very good and has a little wider string spacing than my Stringmasters. I've got my eye on a 3 neck guitar and was thinking about thinning the heard.
