I have been kicking around an idea of forming a steel guitar club, here in Louisiana. And I would appreciate any input on how to go about setting one up. The club would not be limited to steelers from Louisiana and would be opened to anyone that loves and appreciates the steel guitar and good fellowship.
As previously stated any help would be appreciated.

LJ, I live in Denham Springs. It's just outside of Baton Rouge. When you leave Baton Rouge, it's just across the Amite River bridge.

Hello Tommy, As a native of Louisiana from the 9th ward of New Orleans & Bayou Black,I hope you can put this Show together in The Summer.I'd bring out a few old Califorina boys to play. Maybe your home town brother Cleat Wooley Can help you and I would from this side of the Country to come home for a weekend to jam. Let me know how it's coming and I'll see what I can do from here! Winking Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. & Pigeons Band with our great Steel Pickers, " Ron Epperson & Tom Lattimer ". I have two Steel player and two Bass Guitar players in our Band.

Right now I am wanting to try to form the club and get a board together and check into forming the by laws and all the legal bs. To get it setup and recruit members. As of this time a show is down the list. However when things get off the ground, we will let everyone know on the forum. Very Happy

Not yet, but I will talk to them about it. Any help would be appreciated. For years I was member of the Louisiana Songwriters Association. And we would put on showcases featuring the writers performing their material at several venues. We even had a showcase band that performed at the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair the band was comprised of members that performed their material.
