I'm curious. Has anyone out there tried this great Gypsy swing tune on non-pedal steel?

This tune is also known as "Latcho Drom Swing".....to differentiate it from another tune with the name of "Tchavalo Swing"......

Dorado Schmitt & Tchvalo Schmitt (no relation) in this clip......

BTW....this is from the chronolgical documentary "Latcho Drom"....(which means safe journey).....a very interesting and musically rich film......

on that last clip premod, there's one of the gypsies most worshipped events
St Sarah is their patron saint & the hoe down is on may 24 at Saintes Maries de la mer on the mediteranean near arles & nimes
legend has it that, mary magdelene & 2 other Marys landed there way back when

that manouche style is still goin' strong here
