| I just wanted everyone to know that Moon is doing great!. My wife and i just spent 4 days with Ralph and Miz Moon at thier house , He gets a little tired at times but other than that hes still he same ole Moon. Ralph and Miz Moon just had thier 60th anniversary and Moon will be 80 years young in Sept.(and by the way) , he still plays great! , he sat down and played the Last Letter for me the way he did it live with Waylon just like it was yesterday. Sooooo i just thought id let everyone know hes doing great. Ive known him since 1971 when he and i played Cobo Hall on the same show..........God Bless Him and Miz Moon!. |

I got to hear Mr. Moon play back in Feb. & he had those magic notes of his bouncing all over the walls.
He was having a ball & sounded so gooooood.
I've been wondering how he was doing, thanks for the update. Mr. Ralph Mooney is still #1 in my book. |

Thanks Leland for the update on Ralph. I'm an older guy and have been a fulltime fan of both Waylon and Ralph. Was just wondering recently how he was.

Great news indeed. I'm glad to hear that Moon is still doing well and pumping those pedals. He's among my top 3 or 4 favorite players of all time. God Bless him and the Mrs.

| Moon is one of my heroes for sure. I graduated to pedal steel in the early 60s and spent many hours with my trusty Fender 400 by the record player with it on a slower speed trying to figure out his moves. I did the same thing with Day's "Steel and Strings" record. I still like to play those early licks. Moon always had a fresh happy sound to his playing and I liked it. Still do. |

Kenny - That record, Corn Picking and Slick Sliding is a classic. The tune Texas Waltz had air play on country radio way back when. I heard the song on the radio and it stuck with me, and it was about 15-20 years before I found it on this album. Moonshine is another tune on that album that's amazing. I saw tab of that tune once, looked at the first few measures, and forgot about it. I have heard that record with the Country Drifters - that's classic Moon for sure, mixed up right in your face. Great stuff.
