Isn't that what the PF pedal covers? Either way, whatever Franklin material is available is there.

BTW, it's the first or second CD on his site.

Have you tried an archive search? I bet there is lots of info about the PF change and how to use it and maybe even some tab.

Oh and Bill, If you decide you don't want that Valley Pecan D10 anymore, just send it on down. I'd really, really, really like to have it!

4th pedal Lowers 5&10 a whole tone, RKL Lowers 6 a whole tone on mine. I find myself lowering 10 a lot when I'm practicing bottom end single note stuff.

Hi Bill

Tony Prior has two new studies of Hank Williams songs tnat make extensive use of the PF pedal. He also discusses its use on the CD.

I found these to be particularly useful.

A quick search of Events & Announcements should find
them.

I bought Paul's CD instruction on the pedal change at st, Louis, good stuff, and he gives examples of how to use it.

hi folks,
i've recently aquired a u-12 guitar that i had to switch over myself to "undo" an unwanted tuning. i chose to use the standard "sierra" u-12 but moving some of the knees to the same positions as my d-10 for obvious reasons. i have an extra pedal and somewhat more space to add bell cranks etc. i was thinking of putting in a franklin pedal as i run across reference to it often enough here on the forum....
my question is this...is it necessary to put the pf pedal next to pedal 3(of an emmons set up)? i can't hear it but it seems that 3 and 4 together might or might not work as a team, so to speak. 3 and 4 work nicely on the sierra set up. seems i read somewhere that the pf pedal can be put next to pedal 1(or rather, become pedal one).
anybody want to make any points regarding this? likes, dislikes, favorite pedal steel color?

i'm all ears and thanks a bunch. c

Connie - yes it can go in position 0 or position 4.
Just keep in mind that if you put it in position 0 you may have to move your left knee lever cluster over a bit - unless there is enough room on the left side of the pedal bar to install it without moving the other three pedals.

You also want to be able to hit your E to D# knee lever with it. I have it on pedal 4. I play the Day setup and my E-D# knee lever is LKL. I can still hit the two together.

I'm kinda bummed with this thread. I have an older 6139 Bud and the PF pedal is pretty much outta the question. Guess I'll have to look at other steels if I want to utilize that change Sad
