David,

They are not out of business and your title for this thread is scurrilous. I suspect their phone lines are down.

Like biggies Fender and Peavey, they probably prefer you go through one of their dealers for products or repair parts.

I have dealt with them directly on numerous occasions. They definitely aren't a "biggie". Whoa!

warrented this kind of comment!

They are not out of business and your title for this thread is scurrilous. I suspect their phone lines are down.

1 a: using or given to coarse language b: vulgar and evil <scurrilous>
2: containing obscenities, abuse, or slander <scurrilous>

David,

There is nothing wrong with this thread or its title. It's a perfectly legitimate question.

Post Topic: Goodrich Sound
Assessment by John Fabian: scurrilous

The company name could be construed as a play on words - not uncommon. However, it would appear that John Fabian had a mind fart several microseconds before typing the offending word. An apology/explanation is in order.

Nothing wrong at all with your post, David. Only wish that I could help - but can't.

Respectfully,

Richard

Many times people tell me they've called and left a message and I never got it. I'd just try them again.

I'll admit scurrilous may be too harsh a term. So I'll apologize for the use of that term.

However, the topic title you see now is not the original title.

Having said all that, the original post was not well stated.

Words have power and meaning and we should be responsible for the receiver's interpretation of our communication.

The problem with posting a title like "COMPANY X?????ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS??" is that it generates innuendo and conjecture that can be damaging to Company X.

Goodrich Sound has faithfully served the Steel Guitar Industry for many years. I know that Ollie, in addition to keeping the company going after the loss of his father last year, is also taking care of his mother who needs assistance at this time. Goodrich will take the phone off the hook when they need uninterrupted time to attend to other things. Ollie has expressed that he has no intention of stopping the production of pedals and other accessories.

Try calling in the morning.

I hit this topic hard because of the potential for these types of rumors to spread rapidly. While my short response may have been curt, it was hardly a brain fart.
