I’ll be teaching C6 tuning Lap Steel Guitar at Ashokan Western and Swing Week in upstate New York from June 30-July 4, 2008. This will be my 3rd year there and it is really a fun camp, with classes teaching a variety of swing styles and instruments as well as dancing.
There are some fantastic musicians on the staff (particularly fiddlers) who all play at the huge dances held nightly. There is also plenty of jamming with students and instructors going on all week.
Here’s the Ashokan website for more details

Man, that looks like just a fun time hangin' out in the woods and playing some fun music all week long.
Sure wish I didn't have gigs at that time, or I'd be very tempted to attend! _________________ Todd James Weger --

I'd love to take your class Dave but can't make it this year.
It would be a chance to "officially" steal, er... I mean learn all the stuff I've seen you do at jam sessions.
And since I'm paying to take the class you would be forced to reveal the sacred Hawaiian Giegerich family tuning. _________________ Gerald Ross

As soon as my dad reveals it to me, I'll let you know. |
