What size string?

For those who play short scale Fender guitars ( Dual Pro, Stringmaster):
For the fourth string, G, do you use guage .024" or .026"?

I use:

E .016"
C .018"
A .022"
G which .024" or .026"?????

I use a 26 on both my 22 1/2 Remington and my 23 Chandler. I think that probably the scale length is what matters and not the instrument brand. Very Happy
