Billy...
That is an MSA "Pedal Pitch" unit. Supposedly only a few were made. I saw it in action at a trade show. Maybe Mr Anderson will come back on and post some details on it. My computer has only a few days to live. Totally tainted. Can't type more than a paragraph at atime without dying.

Great stuff........I find it sad that there's no mention of Danny Shields (the "S" in MSA). Great guy, great player and all-around pick-up guru. |

Tony G....I will never forget Danny's contributions to MSA in our earliest beginnings. The reason his name does not come up in any of the things shown on this thread, is because he had left the company years before any of these brochures were made. |

You can see and hear it being used live by Phil on this Youtube clip. Talk about a boowah pedal. Great player.

There was also a "Pro-Am" model available, which was quite similar to the Semi-Classic. The "Mini-Pro" psychedelic-finish model really wasn't a big seller, and will probably wind up being the rarest of all MSA's.
MSA might do a psychedelic finish on one of their new models, but I'd imagine you'd have to pay in full when you ordered it! ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Thanks for all the great historic pictures you've been posing, Michael. I'm loving them!
I've seen many MSAs, but never the "Psychedelic Finish".
Were many sold? Has anyone ever seen one? |

If I remember correctly, Phil Baugh had two MSA Pedal Pitch units. (not at the same time) One was on a Gibson and the other was on a Fender.
Most may not know that MSA once made a double neck guitar finished with blue jean material. I was told a few years ago it was seen on display at the Lee Jeans factory, but that was never confirmed. |

Great pictures and story of MSA. My first MSA was a D12 that used the fulcrum rod pull method that I played for 6 years then I had a D12 with 9 & 5 built in 1974 that I had until 2005. Great sounding and playing steels. The poster showing "Steel Appeal" I have mounted in a frame on my wall for all to see. Great posts. _________________ Carter D12, MSA S12, 12 String Custom Made Non-Pedal, Evans FET 500LV, Evans SE200, Peavey Nashville 400, Fender Steel King |
