I love the wonderful, melancholy style of his music.
I think Tom Waits may have been a fan.

I'm not sure whether Al Jolson loved him or was making fun of him or both. But there seem to be alot of references to him in Jolson's early stuff. Surely someone here will be old enough to remember. Winking

Somewhere in my library I've got a little red songbook of "The Works of Stephen Foster". He wrote a bunch of stuff... I used that book 40 years ago with the 6 string.
