hey all, i'm looking to buy/trade for a ZB s-10/11/12. i have an emmons p/p to trade with that is in really nice shape. i would really like to trade rather than sell it and buy another (one step instead of two), but i thought i would put out feelers here and see what shows up. after playing my ZB d-10 the other day i realized i am a zb guy inside and although the emmons is a great guitar, something about the zb does it for me, but my d-10 is really heavy, so i would like to have an s-10 zb, lighter weight and that something that i like all in one package. thanks in advance

Chris the steel in Portland is a SD10, use to be blue but the food coloring has faded over the years like most of them did. Might have 4-5 pedals and 4-5 knee levers.

Ron Steven was once an owner, Harley James was once an owner, he put it back into working order and sold it, now it is at the music store listed above.

Don't imagine there are many SD10's around.

thanks a lot larry, i am going to purchase the steel and hopefully it works well, the pickups look to be good and the mechanics seem straight and right, hopefully the finish will be nice, the fading is cool i think. have you seen this guitar and heard it, how is it? i guess i'm taking a big chance with it considering i have never sat down at it, and it is a zb, notorious for mechanical problems, but i do love the sound and feel of my current d-10, so i am praying it is okay. i have a friend going to portland who is picking it up for me. any feedback on this is really appreciated, thanks a lot

You're bound to be aware that B. Greg Jones is out there, if anything is wrong with it. I got him to refurbish my D-11 that I had built in 67 , he can make it look and act like new.

Congrats Chris! Does this mean the Emmons is for sale? Sorry if I seem like a vulture hovering over that guitar.

Chris I have not seen the guitar, got all that info from Harley James. He is a steel junkie like the rest of us and a great player to boot.
