Well, I have been playing my Carter almost non stop now since it arrived at my house in pieces after a trip with UPS, and I am very happy to say it is performing just great! The people I work with love the sound of this guitar, and I even get positive comments from some of the folks who come out to our regular gigs on how much better I sound with this Carter sounds compared to my old Guitar. I am having a ball with this guitar, and I hope all other new Carter owners are too!!

Glad to hear it!
I don't own a Carter but I have long appreciated all they (Bud, Billy, John and Ann) do for the steel community.
For example, there is a steel guitar owner's guide at their site that describes the maintenance and lubrication that should be performed regularly. Then there is the endless demo setup at Scotty's with the ever-present Billy Phelps and some great tracks. _________________ HagFan

I've had mine for four days. Got it friday, giged with it saturday.
This guitar fits me like a glove and sounds excellent.
It's been said before: Bud Carter sure knows how to build 'em!

I've been playing a D-10 Carter (2005 or 2006? w/BCT) for about 2 months I guess, and I've played somewhere around 20 gigs on it. I was (and still am) a die hard ShoBud guy, but just wanted to try something a bit more modern (and a lot less heavy), so I found a good deal on this one used.
I sort of got into a Carter on the recommendation of a pro player who lives in the area that also plays a Carter, and I'm totally satisfied with this guitar. Tone is terrific everywhere on the guitar, plenty of top-end without harshness, lots of 'gooo' in the midrange and a great growl in the lower register down around frets 1-3. It's also just effortless up above 12th fret, with wonderful sustain up there. No hot spots, no dead spots, and extremely even response everywhere on the necks. This particular Carter came with a George L E66 on E9th neck, and the standard 10-1 on C6.
I still own (and probably always will) an older round front Pro II and it sounds great, but the Carter has turned out to be the perfect gigging guitar for me; light weight, great sound, excellent playability, and solid dependable tuning... I just haven't found anything about it I don't like.
I don't really know anybody at Carter, have never dealt with them, but I'm certainly a new fan of Bud's guitars. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

I'm sure glad there are lots of happy Carter owners out there!!
Andy, the dates are starting to come in now and it looks like it will be a fairly long tour next summer!
All we are going to need is steel guitar, beer and schnapps, and life is good!

I love my Carter D-10. My SD-10 is not bad either but it gets played less.
