It gives me great pleasure to announce that the new International Steel Guitar Conference Center™ is fully operational and ready to please you. Several years ago we named a room the steel guitar chat room and worked hard to make it evolve and become what it is today. We have a long list of members and friends to the site. We use voice over IP software that enables you to talk live with any other member anywhere in the world. We also have text abilities for you to communicate as well without using the microphone. We offer a great array of music from the best steel guitarist in the world and we urge you to come and visit and learn more about whom we are what we stand for. We have been working on making this community of steel players and listeners better and better as we have grown over the years and we are very proud of what we have become today. Inside of the members section you can enjoy the non-pedals room…the dobro room…private lessons rooms and certainly the pedal steel guitar room. We don’t tolerate poor behavior or foul language so you don’t have to worry about what your loved ones may hear if they happen to be in the room with you. This is not a place to fuss and fight. It’s a place to relax with your friends and share licks and ideas and simply have a great time. And if having a great time and abiding by these simple rules is not you….then we would rather you not apply.
Our members enjoy the benefit of free seminars that we put on from time to time as well as our regular weekly “trade a lick night” where you play your own stuff live and share some licks and get some licks from some of the best in the industry. Our software is user friendly to all computers with the exception of Macs. Currently the software that allows the use of Mac’s is JAVA based and quite frankly it’s a pain in the back….but we are in the process of doing something about that so that Mac users will also be able to enjoy our site. Now for the best part. You are able to visit our guest room for free and listen to the music and text with others in the room. The microphone is not allowed in our guest room. But by going there and following some simple instructions you will be able to get a feel for what we are all about. The members’ rooms have much more so please stop by and visit for free. There is a limited capacity set on the guest room so if you are unable to get in because it is full please try later and when you “are” in please remember that others are waiting to come and visit as well. Again we are the International Steel Guitar Conference Center™ and you can locate the site at www.isgcc.com. When you get there, simply click on Guest Lounge…then install the short plug-in and you will be right there. Remember to save the plug-in first then open it to make it all work. We look forward to your visit and hope that you enjoy your stay with us. Then if you like what you see and hear and would like to become a member by all means contact us and we will help you. No password is required for your visit to the guest area but a REAL FIRST AND LAST NAME is required.
Warm Regards to you all from
Ray Walker and Don Poland

Just wanted to say this is one of the best things going on. As Ron has said, if your looking for an answer to a question, you can get it right away and if not someone will put you in touch with the right person.
Meet and chat with friends as well as some of the best steel players. Someone is always playing a new song they've been working on, (usually me, lol).
Come in, relax and unwind from a hard day at work.
Always something going on and some pretty interesting discussions as well.
Of course when ever Bobby Bowman comes in the discussions always turns toward food, LOL.
One of the best things about this place is that it has allowed me to meet many new people and become very close friends with them as well.
When you come into the room your treated like family and always given respect. Everyone is always polite.
Come on in, will see you all there.

Thanks for the comments and I am proud to be a part of it all. Many of you have visited the guest room so far and some have sent an e-mail asking why I don't come in the room. Actually I am in the guest room a lot visiting and welcoming folks... however.... the members section is constantly changing and we are quite busy trying to make each new day an exciting experience for all of you. If you miss myself or Don Poland in your visit..you will most certainly catch us in there on another occassion. We had a great interview with Donna Ray in our Singer/songwriters room last night and have plans for some great steelers' interviews as well. I realize that everyone can't get into the guest room always when it is full but please remember it's our free section and was put there so you can get a little sample of our site before you become a member. There is a "no limit capacity" in our members' section. Also remember that this is a 24/7 site and on those nights when you can't sleep you can bet that the folks across the pond are in their daylight mode so stop in and chat with them. Some great steel players abroad too.

I.S.G.C.C. is the coolest thing going in the world of steel guitar. Just today 4 different members took the time to play, explain and teach me some new stuff for my little grab bag of licks and tricks. This evening went just as well with great conversation and friendship.
*Most evenings it's like attending a steel show from your living room, office or where ever you are online. Come check it out!

I have been waiting to post on this thread because I was trying to think of the correct words and phrases to describe this innovative conception. As one who was there at the opening of the very first steel guitar chatroom, I have personally been there at each and every improvement that has been made. The original chatroom was shut down due to numerous circumstances and Ray Walker and Don Poland, have spent countless hours and sleepless nights (I’m sure) to bring us to the point we are today. Today we have new software for the room, a really small download to your computer, a variety of different conference rooms for different objectives, very compatable for our sightless friends (of which we have a few) and living up to our name, The INTERNATIONAL Steel Guitar Conference, we are now truly international.
Not only that but we now have a FREE guest lounge so you can try, before you buy so to speak. No voice, but the best steel music that you’ll hear anywhere, and you can chat by typing your text in the room. For a small donation (monthly) you get full and complete access to all our services and benefits.I personally invite you to give us a try and see for yourselves just what we’d like to see you become a part of. Don’t take my word for it, come and see for yourselves If you like what you see and hear, come and join the fun and comraderie. If not, it was nice to have you visit us.Talk to some of the members. They can answer most of your questions and the ones we can’t answer, we’ll be happy to lead you to the proper source. WE ARE HABIT FORMING ! One of the first things I do each day is check to see who is in the room, then I check the guest lounge to see if there are any folks to talk to. Come on in, the water’s fine, we’d be honored to have you visit the I.S.G.C.C.
Here’s a link to our free guest lounge where you can hear good steel music 24/7. We’re waiting for you !

Well it's wonderful to see so many new faces and we look forward to a very fun winter ahead. We have already started setting up some of the many interviews we will be doing over in ISGCC and we invite you to participate in the Wednesday night "play your own stuff live" night. You have never seen this much steelin without police involvement in your life
It's fun...and it's friendly...and best of all it's a family oriented site. Come on into the guest area at www.isgcc.com and sit a spell and when you want a lot more than you see there...simply fill out the form and get a membership....you'll be glad you did. It's the International Steel Guitar Conference Center and "it's the place to be"
God Bless from Ray and Don and all the members |
