| Click here to see a guy named Masato Honda play a medley on some recorders... Yup, that same instrument we all had to learn in the fourth grade. I could've guessed that it has more potential than one octave worth of diatonic, but this still knocked my socks off. |

An amazing recorder player, for sure! There seem to be virtuosos on any instrument; recorder, ukelele, even that pedal steel guitar thing...
I play a little recorder, but not like that gentleman.

That's funny -- I remember in the fourth grade we all had to buy these cheap white plastic recorders and learn to "play" them. We all sounded more like a bunch of people "breaking wind" than a true section of woodwinds 
But, there was this one geeky girl who learned to play the fire out of her cheap little recorder. She got to do a solo performance in front of the whole school.  |

| Hey, I was the guy in my class who got to play a solo in the Xmas pageant! I never progressed much farther, but do have a nice wooden soprano and I'm still a fan of the instrument. |

If you want to hear some amazingly beautiful recorder playing, check out Michala Petri. Her Handel recording with Keith Jarrett is lovely and Jarrettt uncharacteristically,even leaves the moans, groans and ego at home.
