Somewhere on the forum is a source for fretboard diagrams for the different tunings for non-pedal steel. I printed out the eight string version of C6 tuning some time ago, but have forgotten where I found it. Can anyone point my in the right direction? Thanks much,

Jude

Jude,

Up at the top of this page is a button that says "Links." Click that then from the top of that page is a link that says "copedents"...and there you are! Scroll down towards the bottom for non-pedal tunings.

Hope that is what you were looking for,

Tom

Thanks Tom, but if it's in there I can't find it. What I'm looking for looks like this-

Jude,

I get it now...I was thinking that you just wanted to look at tunings. I like your examples but don't recognize them. If you search this section for "Karlis Abolins" you will find a link to a program that he designed call "Guitar Map". It was built with pedal steel in mind but I used it frequently for non-pedal tunings.

Basically, you only need to "name" the individual strings...then you have options for displaying indvidual notes for the tuning you just entered and chords as well. These notes or chords are highled in color like your example.

I found this today and it'll work for me. I can select a tuning for eight string guitar and select the key I want to play in, and it'll show where the notes are when I'm trying to learn something written in notation.

Thanks again.
