I was wondering if anyone out there knew of the current whereabouts of an old friend of mine from my SoCal days, Roy Dee (DiSimone). Roy played lead guitar in So Cal for a lot of years, mostly in Orange County. The time frame would have been from the sixties through the eighties. The last time I saw hime was in late '85 as I was leaving the state and moving to Virginia. He was playing in the Riverside area with Tommie Gobel (bass) and Bobby Boydd (steel guitar). Roy was one of the better pickers around the area. He always played a red Gibson Trini Lopez model guitar which looked like a 335 with six in line tuners. If anyone has any info as to his whereabouts I'd like to get it.......Thanks in advance....JH in Va.

Jerry, Roy divorced and remarried and moved (I think) to Wisconsin. I haven't heard from him, but Bobby Boydd told me that he moved to the upper Midwest. He also had to sell his beloved Gibson. Haven't heard anything in years. Bobby died in 2000. |
