As today was the end of the cycle, I reluctantly brought in the stringmaster. The only class that worried me was my 6th graders as they are antsy and hop around. A few asked if they could play it!!!! I used the schools amp so I would have less to carry. They were intrigued but were requesting todays songs. All in all, it was fun and I would certainly do it again. |

Man, why couldn't I have had cool teachers when I was in school? When I was in 6th grade, my teacher (who was an uptight a$$#@&e) once played piano and sang "The Happy Wanderer" My buddy and I looked at each other and kinda smirked and he stopped right in the middle of the song and yelled at us. The good thing was he never did finish the song. The year was 1959 - the same year "Sleepwalk" came out. Now if he woulda brought a Stringmaster and played Sleepwalk, then he would have been a real "Educator". The world would have been a brighter place from that moment on.
The word "Educator" is derived from Latin - and it literally means "One who leads out of" - ignorance or darkness.
So, cudos to you Ron - you are a true Educator! |

hey Ron. I am so glad to hear you are enjoying your lap steel.
the only time we had music in grade school was when the music lady brought in her cart. I played shakers and the class bully really liked the tamborine. |
