I had one a 1999 model and it just sounded distorted when I played through it with my steel. I went to a NV112 and no more distortion problems. I wonder if I put a BW speaker in a Bandit would it sound more like a NV112 or just produce a better sound for the steel? I think the Banditt's Sheffield is the wrong voiced speaker to play steel through? What do you think everone? If you think its worth a try I will buy a Banditt and attempted it??? Please advise ASAP

IMHO, you'd need to do more that change the speaker. The amp is voiced specifically for guitar, not steel. So, it would need some electronic mods to increase the overall fidelity for a steel. Unless you got a Bandit extremely cheap, the costs could easily end up close to a NV112's price.
