Does anyone use the new Nashville 112 amp. with their Stringmaster or Custom? I'm interested to know if you are pleased with the sound.
Many thanks in advance, Rick |

Rick,
Yes, I tried the NV112 for a coupla weeks. It is a good amp that does what it says it will do. Very flexible, line out, CD in, lightweight, headphones, etc. The tone is OK and is improved with the SG Black Box. Plenty of power.
I play a T8 Stringmaster, a T8 Custom, and a new MSA SU12.
For that Fender sound, nothing beats a Fender tube amp. I use the Blues Deluxe which is a 40w 12"speaker. Great job with the Fender Guitars.
Walker Stereo Steel is a great amp(S) for the MSA. |

I use only a ’65 Re-Issue Fender Twin~Reverb Custom™ 15 for my Fender T–8 Custom! Nothing ‘artificial’ about an All-Tube Amp.!

If you want your Stringmaster to sound spectacular, play it thru a Fender Steel King. No gadgets or boxes needed - trust me on this one. |

A friend just got the new custom shop '57 Twin in his shop this morning. I plugged in this afternoon. Now, that is the "real deal" for a 50's vintage Fender steel guitar. Sweet, full, clear, hand wired, all tube and ALL FENDER. Only 40 watts, but they are quality watts. Only about 45 lbs too. I don't remember anybody using more than 40 watts in the '50s and most used a lot less. The bad news is that you can buy 3 of the TRRIs or the Twin Custom 15's for the price of one of these beauties. |

I bought a Bassman LTD RI to use with my Stringmaster and am very pleased with the results.
More than enough power and low end for me.

This is a good question. It's amazing how many roads you can take to get to the same destination........
I run a "55" D8 Stringer into a Hilton Digital Sustain. I really like how you can control the pickup's and tone blend control on the steel. You have to experiment with it. This goes into a Goodrich 500k pot vol. pedal. Then into a Boss RV 3 for slight reverb & delay. Then right into the Norm. Channel of a "60"Fender Concert Amp, 4 10" speakers...Vol control is up to about 6, to control the vol. sustain. Full bass, 7 on the Treble, Presence Full. It's 40 Watts, but with the all tube, it's got the power for any gig, indoor or outdoor. It's the only Amp I have ever had.....the only obvious problem is the weight...even being on the road with it, in the 60's, you can't kill it! Fender built them great!!! I'm sure there are better setup's than this, but this works for me. TX

Ron

I sometimes use my Princeton Reverb (ca. 1970) which sounds very nice, or (rare) my '74 Super Reverb (retro-fitted to black panel specs) which sounds FANTASTIC. Weighs too dang much, though, and I loathe moving it.
Recently, I bought one of these Fender 25 Bassman's (I play URB, too, though not at the same time as playing steel . At only 25 watts, doesn't sound like much, but this little guy makes a pretty nice little steel amp! Has way more low end and power than one might think. No reverb, but that's OK, as it has send/return jacks for outboard FX.
Usually though, I run my Stringmaster into a Yamaha DG Stomp, then to the board. Great tone, no amp to carry!
Gotta love it.
