There has been a well-deserved nomination, now on "Steel Players," of Ricky Davis as "Man of the Year." If not for the preemption of that category, I might have worded this differently. Anyway, there could well be more than one "_____ of the Year," but to avoid invidious comparisons, I am going to propose some other categories.

There just has to be a category for Rick Aiello. He is a teacher, and he has taught
us much. He is a scientist, and in his "laboratory" he has brought many ancient and moribond Horseshoe pickups back to life. And, perhaps most outstandingly, he is a reverent creator, and he has brought the Dustpan to the faithful. For all of this, he deserves to be -- what? -- of the Year!

I agree. Rick has been one of the main reasons this board is so much fun. Happy new years, Rick Aiello!

Rick is a fantastic resource, and true inspiration to many of us. Unselfish and dedicated to his playing and the instruments we love. Thank you Rick! You got my vote.
Happy New Year.
