violin value?

I am trying to get a value on my father's old violin from '23. With all the musical backgrounds, maybe someone out there can point me in the right direction. I tried to play "Sleepwalk" on it, but had trouble sliding. Maybe I could ductape the bar onto the bow.

Try to find a violin shop locally. If not one in your area, try to find a school orchestra teacher and find out where they get their instrument work done and take violin there.
