I just received the tabs for "Alabama Jubilee" and "Cry" from Buck's great CD, "A Work in Progress" and wanted to say what quality products they were. Fred Amendola did the transcriptions of Buck's arrangements...real accurate note-for-note tab of a couple of great tunes. Lots of knuckle-busting sixteenth note runs in Alabama Jubilee (my goal is to have it up to half-speed at some point with a lot of work!)and a real pretty arrangement of Cry. Buck says more tab will follow as time permits. Check out www.buckreid.com if you're interested.
I had the pleasure of meeting Buck about 15 years ago in a club in Mobile AL when he was backing Rob Crosby. I was getting discouraged with an old ShoBud that needed a lot of work and wasn't a whole lot of fun to play. He took the time between sets to talk to me about it, point me in the right direction for repairs, and most of all keep me motivated to hang in there and not give up on playing steel. It worked! Thanks, Buck..... |

These are great Jeff. Buck will be at our Tri State Steel Show in Washington, Pa (near Pittsburgh) in April. He will have his products available there also. He's a great picker, and loves to talk steel guitar with people too.
