I'd appreciate any recommendations anyone might have for catching some steel playing on Friday and/or Saturday evening (or afternoon for that matter!)during the second weekend in December.
Kaspy's has been mentioned for Friday nights but I have no idea what might be available on Saturdays.
I hope my odds are better than my chances of catching a wave at Waikiki. |

The usual answer is to check out www.hsga.org and have a look at what Gerald has listed for 'who/where'. The Moana, and the Halekulani still usually cater to a steel crowd.
I doubt there is steel on Sat's. at Kaspy's, but bring your's and be ready just in case.
Sunday's at 5pm, you can usually catch Bobby Ingano sitting in with Martin Pahinui's group at the Marriott in 'kiki. Then you'll know why everybody loves Bobby and his playing.
Just before you go on your vacation, post again, and maybe there will be something more to be sure to see. Steel is still a bit of a secret in Hawai'i. That's gotta change. |

Dave, if you or anyone else plans to hit Kaspy's hoping to get some lix in, bring an amp, as there is no sound system. It's backyard style, only indoors. |
