I've got a new teaching DVD out on Learnrootsmusic.com. That's a company run by my friend Doug Cox, Canada's premier dobro picker and DVD producer. You can go to their website to pick it up or I'll have it on mine within the next week or so.

It's a smorgasbord of techniques and ideas, great for beginners and some good stuff for the intermediate player as well. Good two camera filming so you can see both hands and my usual clear explanations (that's what people tell me anyway) of what i'm doing and how I'm doing it. I hope you dobro players will find it helpful. Volume 2 will be coming along in a few months.

Don't forget I already have a two volume set designed specifically for beginners. Those are available at my website (http://www.orvillejohnson.com) and the new disc will be up there soon as well. I have other instructional DVDs there on Bottleneck Slide for beginners and Playing and Arranging in oprn D Tuning.

And one last commercial announcement, I do give lessons one day a week (Tuesdays) at Dusty Strings music in Seattle WA the city's number one acoustic instrument shop and by special appointments occasionally on other days. If you're from that area or passing thru and need a lesson feel free to contact me.
