Somebody point me in the right direction. I would like some specific instruction on bluegrass playing. I looked on Doug Jernigan's sight and can't really find anything specific. HELP!!!

What kind of specific instruction are you looking for? I'm a banjo player before a steel player and I've taught/performed professionally for the past five years.

Specifically bluergrass pedal steel guitar like Doug Jernigan or Mike Sigler plays. Banjo type rolls etc. I play steel 25+/- years but never really attempted to learn blugrass. I saw Mike Sigler at the Mesa show and it inspired me to learn some of that style. So far i have found nothing to help me.

Ron,

I don't have any great sources other than the idea to find some sheet music for banjo parts written in standard notation and start figuring them out on steel. I could loan you my Earl Scruggs book, but you would probably need something in the melodic banjo style like Tony Trischka. Maybe even fiddle music would work, but might not lay out on the neck as well.

Here's something I thought was interesting you can mess with until someone can point you in a better direction: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum8/HTML/002561.html

PS- Be sure to email me about upcoming dates for the band!
